Modern pressure chamber technology

From "Snow White's coffin," the one-man-pressure chamber to the modern multi-user chamber
In Freiburg our patients treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) receive the benefits of the latest pressure chamber technology:
- A multi user chamber (13 patients plus one assistant)
- Exhalation monitoring by an oxygen sensor - exO2 sensors (therefore immediate clarity on the actual oxygen uptake of the patient)
- Transcutaneous oxygen sensor - tcpO2, System Linde
- Blood pressure monitoring
- ECG monitoring through 3 channels + respiration
- HAUX-DECOMAT 2000 - computer and control
- Video monitoring
- Permanent voice connection
- The breathing of oxygen only through masks / head tent.
With modern technology we achieve the following advantages:
- If necessary, the physician and / or assistants can help the patient in the pressure chamber.
- Through an antechamber both medical staff and patients can be processed in and out.
- Permanent contact with the patient
- If necessary, the patient is accompanied into the pressure chamber by a doctor or an assistant.
- Principally, the pressure chamber is always filled with air of normal composition; an increase of the oxygen is prevented through the constant monitoring of mask density and the oxygen uptake by the patient. In addition, an increase in the oxygen content would immediately be indicated in the pressure chamber.
- Safe treatment application and implementation.
- Emergency treatment and care inside the pressure chamber.
One-man-pressure chambers are indeed considerably cheaper to buy, but offer no comparable opportunities in the treatment and care of patients and no similar protection in the treatment processes.
