If oxygen … then HBOT

Therapeutic principle

The patients inhale medically pure oxygen under conditions of positive pressure. This means the oxygen is absorbed in the blood at up to 20 times the normal level.

Scientifically proven studies

In contrast with other oxygen or ozone treatments, HBOT is both a practically and scientifically proven method of treatment.

Indications

Acute inner ear diseases
  • Acute hearing loss with and without tinnitus
  • Acoustic trauma / blast injury
  • Tinnitus (ear noise)
Classic areas of treatment
  • Diving accidents – decompression illness
    type I: Joint and/or muscle pains, reddening of skin, itching and swellings
    Type II: Damage to the central nervous system, e.g. disturbances to movement, palsy, inner ear damage, heart disorders, impairment of vision, breathing difficulties
    Type III: Lung overpressure accident, e.g. chest pains, palsy, extreme breathing difficulties
  • Gas gangrene infection
  • Gas embolism
  • Carbon monoxide intoxication
New indications
  • Problem wounds (diabetic foot syndrome, AVK, wounds which do not heal after radiation)
  • Bone diseases (osteitis, chronic osteomyelitis, aseptic osteonecrosis, e.g. necrosis of the head of the femur, Ahlbäck’s disease)
  • Critical flapping or critical transplants
  • Crush injury, contusion, sports injury
  • Late consequences of radiation (bones, soft tissue, bladder, large intestine)
  • Burn disease including smoke inhalation
